August 25, 2007 Work Party with EarthCorps

Report submitted by Kirsten Rohrbach, Creek Steward

Lina Rose of EarthCorps led the August 25 work party at the Thistle Street Green Space. A number of volunteers who had previously worked at Thistle returned, and it was great to see them back! Work focused on removing field bindweed from around the trees next to where the creek daylights and creating survival rings around some of the conifers on the trail. We also spread cardboard in an area cleared by Summer Parks Corps in preparation for mulching it on September 22.
