October 20, 2007 Brandon Site Work Party
Report submitted by Jay Mirro, Creek Steward
They say wait if you don't like the weather in Washington, just wait 5 minutes and this Saturday it was certainly true. 40 plus volunteers braved a typical windy, rainy, cloudy, sunny, dry day on the October 20th Brandon Street Natural Area work party. Volunteers planted over 100 wetland plants in the water. A few volunteers had waterproof boots and there was enough edge plants so we stayed dry. Well our feet stayed dry any way. We moved about 30 yards of mulch out into the forest, smoother weeds and helping the forest grow. It is always fun to see 8 wheelbarrows and 20 pick forks in action! If you missed the action, there will be another work party on Nov 17th. Join the Fun!
